As the weather started to get a little colder and a little darker day by day, I began thinking about some of my favorite tales of terror. One of my favorite horror stories of all time is The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, but I’ve also noticed that Japan has several ultra-creepy, terrifying folk tales and scary urban legends.
Last October, for Halloween, I produced a digital story based on a Japanese folk tale called The Box as recorded by Megan Kopp in her book, Scary Folk Tales. Since it made some of my friends jump, I’m reposting the link to the YouTube video here again this year for Halloween. (Lazy, I know, but if your friends haven’t seen it, maybe it will make them jump, too. Then, it will be worth it.)
…So again, wait until it gets really dark, turn out all the lights, then watch … if you dare! …And Happy Halloween!! 🙂
